What does CBR after my real estate title mean?

I sign my emails with my name (obviously) but then I follow that with “NY State Licensed Real Estate Agent, CBR®.”   Unless you are an agent who has already obtained the “CBR” designation, you may not know what that means.

CBR stands for Certified Buyer Representative.   Any agent who has those initials after their name has received additional training that focuses on how to best support their buyer client(s) in their hunt for their new home.  In other words, a CBR real estate agent is an agent specially trained to professionally represent buyers in their real estate transaction.

Sold HouseThe CBR® Certified Buyer Representative designation allows consumers to identify real estate agents who have been trained to be in their corner.  Buyers can be sure these agents will represent them in a legal, ethical, and non-adversarial fashion.  These agents are armed with the experience and training, as well as the forms, disclosures and other documents which allow them unparalleled service to their buyer clients.

  1. With the current economy downturn profit can be garnered by purchasing real estate while property values are lowered. In a sense, homes, commercial space and land are one of the few investments that one can be guaranteed will not remain diminished in value long term. The reality is there is only so much land to purchase. If you buy some now, someone will have to buy it from you in the future.
